In 2008 hybrid vehicles are expected to auto 2.5% – 2.8% market share of new vehicles sold. And like 2007, in 2008 Toyota Prius hybrid again leads the pack accounting for fifty percent of all 2008 hybrid vehicles sold. As a result of more and tougher emissions standards, GM spokesman predicted that four out of five cars sold in the year 2020 will be fuel efficient hybrids.
