The ML 450 Hybrid SUV’s two mode hybrid technology in the ML 450 Hybrid SUV is derived from the fundamental work undertaken by the Global Hybrid Cooperation co-developed with General Motors, Chrysler, BMW Group, and Daimler AG. The ML 450 Hybrid SUV was specifically developed for the North American market.

The ML 450 Hybrid SUV numbers start with city fuel consumption of 21 mpg and highway consumption of 24 mpg. With a 288V NM battery pack and a 3.5 liter V6 Atkinson cycle engine, the ML 450 Hybrid Suv can go 1.8 miles and up to 34 mile per hour on battery power alone. This luxury hybrid SUV offers a system output of 340 horsepower and a combined torque of 517 Nm (38 lb-ft), so providing adequate power to move the giant SUV was clearly just as large a priority as fuel efficient economy.
