Hybrid Electric Cars - The first auto alternatives for the 21-st century

Electric Cars

Electric Cars At Frankfurt Motor Show: Nowadays Electric Cars was not just limited to small cars. For example, in Frankfurt Motor Show – Mercedes and Audi, two of German giants, unveiled electric supercars they plan to build in 2013. They have 4-motor 4-wheel drive systems (one at each wheel), and with silent acceleration they claim they’re true supercar performance. Both goal at a range of 150 miles or so in the official EC drive cycle. Though if you used the performance the range would of course be ‘plenty’ less.

The Mercedes Electric Cars is a version of the SLS, and essentially has no significant changes to the suspension or body. The batteries suit in the spaces vacated by the transmission, exhaust, propshaft, and fuel tank. The Electric Cars’ motor and controllers occupy the underbonnet and space around the rear axle.

Audi’s e-tron Electric Cars- with the body resembles Audi’s supercar-chasing R8, but the changes are more general so as to decrease energy use and ‘lengthen’ range. It’s shorter and lower than an Audi R8 and has reduced aero drag. The body panels are carbonfibre and target weight for production is only 1600kg.

These two Electric Cars will be punishingly high-priced and so will be built in little numbers, but they should go some way to developing technologies and recharging systems that everyday Electric Cars can benefit from.

China & United States will Become Partner on Electric Cars

In public opinion, Republic of China or RRC is often regarded as a ‘big competitor’ to the United States auto industry for two main reasons. First, China surpasses the U.S. to become the world’s largest car market and it’s getting bigger (in the last year). Second, the government of China want directly go to the electric car and spent the past gasoline ICE or internal combustion engine. According to the experts in China’s electric vehicle markets, China is far more likely to become partners rather than competitors in building the future of electric cars.

Maybe some of us will ask why China want cooperate with the United States to produce electric cars. Simply put this country desperate for change that quickly. Roland Hwang, the Manager of Transportation Program at the Natural Resource Defense Council said, “This country has a major problem and needs a big solution. Their current path is not sustainable.” In 2030 – The issues including air quality bleak and needs to import as much as eighty percent of their oil for a car. Roland Hwang and other China’s experts discussed and electricity in the car the car last week, Electricity 2.0 a cleantech Berkeley-Stanford Conference, in S.F.

Currently, China needs but has to challenges the major to achieve electrical cars goal. It’s talking about 5 or 10 years being the world in automotive quality, safety, and technology. And almost all of Chinese shoppers is not able to pay five thousand dollars or so premium price of electric cars.

The Rewards and Risks

Would United States companies get more opportunity? Jit Bhattacharya, the Mission Motors’ CEO, said that the company’s phone rang from the association with the companies from China who seek help with what is running on electric power, from scooters and cars, to garden and lawn equipment. The produsen of Mission Motors produces $ 68,000- 150-mph electric motorcycle in California, but has shifted much of its attempt to sell the technology of electric-powertrain. “Chinese Company contacted us and said we do not know how we will get this learning curve fast enough to really get a car to market within 3 or 4 years into the future.”

Roland Hwang stuck vehicle market is currently China’s electricity, most electric bike, around 100 million. His said that no one can count or predict on China to be great players in the electric car market. Hwang believe that China will be big part of electric car market, as suppliers, consumers, or battery manufacturers.

United States startup companies have a big opportunity to cooperate with manufacturers from China, the scale of their business, and bring home the technology. Major U.S. and Japanese automakers produce electric cars would also like to penetrate the market of China, while companies from China, such as Geely and BYD, trying to bring their electric cars to the North American market. This is an inter-related market.

Opportunities for companies large and small alike are not w.o risk, according to panelists Marc Gottschalk, at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati’s partner. Investment firm has several clients of electric cars, including the Tesla and Mission Motors. Gottschalk said that there is a struggle but the company wants to get benefit of that huge Chinese’s market. He added that there is also a feeling that they have a desire to do anything you possibly can do to prevent yourself from having the stolen of technology and sold and used it against you in the next time.

General Purpose

According to Roland Hwang, one of the first things the newly appointed U.S. Department of Energy to do is to make a forum for the United States and China to discuss common challenges their electric vehicles. Hwang said that the basic idea is that United States and China, the two of the world’s largest car market, will forge along with the market for electric vehicles. There are many of economies of scale, synergies, and many benefits down the learning curve together.

A Brief Guide to Hybrid Vehicles

Hybrid vehicles were the stuff of dreams centuries ago. Nobody ever thought that creating a vehicle independent from fuel was possible. Fortunately with the continuing development of hybrid technology, more efficient and practical vehicles have been created. In the recent years the campaign for global warming has brought the attention of the public. Hybrid cars are now becoming steadily popular available in various types from compact sedans to SUVs.

Environmental issues are not the only reason that has made the public favor hybrid cars. Rising gas prices is also one of the major reasons why people prefer hybrid cars than conventional ones. Its also practical in suburban environments where you don’t really need horsepower but gas mileage.

Hybrid vehicles

There are different types of hybrid vehicles. They can vary from the simplest wheelbarrows to ships. No matter what form they are, these vehicles help in reducing greenhouse and noise emissions. Although these vehicles are expensive due to their unique structures, developments will continue to provide more alternatives to the public. These cars may not compare to conventional ones with a 200 horsepower but why would you need that if you only need 20 in the streets?

The simplest hybrid would be the single wheeled vehicles. These are wheelbarrows famously depicted with sails. This can be seen in Chinese sailing carriages.

The next is two wheeled vehicles. These are usually cycle type vehicles. The best example would be the Moped and electric bicycles. They are powered by an electric motor or an internal combustion engine in combination with the rider’s muscles. This concept was also used in the 1800′s by motorcycles. The electric bicycle can either be a parallel or a series hybrid.

Hybrid vehicles are not just limited to private cars. There are also hybrid power trains used by heavy vehicles. There are diesel or turbo electric buses, railway locomotives, heavy duty vehicles, hydraulic machinery and ships.

In ships a diesel engine drives the electric generator or hydraulic pump which in turn powers one or more hydraulic or electric motors. Sails and engines were early forms of hybrids which may be used again due to rising fuel costs.

More developments are continually being made in hybrid structures and systems for efficiency. Today buying a hybrid car is expensive but it will be beneficial in the long run. It does not just save fuel costs but also removes pollution that can harm the health of the people and take whatever it is left of the environment.

Electric Automobile

By: Johan Young

Before the invention of internal combustion engines, electric automobile were the way to go. Electric automobile history dates back to the early part of the 19th century at which time batteries were used to promote electric vehicles. As a matter of fact, the 1867 World Exhibition featured electric vehicles. An electric car broke the previously set speed barrier of 60 in 1899.

Oddly enough, we are now going back to electric automobile history to move forward as the demand for alternate means of energy is needed to fuel our vehicles. The rising cost of oil prices coupled with concern for the environment has made the concept of electric automobile much more endearing to the public. Because this technology has already been used, auto makers can now look back to electric automobile history as a way to move forward in the future when it comes to car energy

In fact the idea of electric automobile has been present even before the gasoline engine was invented. There is electric automobile history that is dating back to the 1800s at which time automobile manufacturers were trying to perfect the use of the automobile. Today, we look back at automobile history when we take a lesson for the future and try to come up with automobiles that run on energy other than gasoline.
