Tax incentives for hybrid owners or hybrid tax incentives are one of the newest things offered. The federal and state government offers up to $3,400 hybrid tax incentives for hybrid purchased after 2005 and a $ 2,000 hybrid tax incentives for hybrids purchased by the end of 2005. I think hybrid owners are very ecstatic about that.

There is a variety of hybrid tax incentives and credits to encourage hybrid vehicle ownership.

We can find out how much exactly our hybrid tax incentives from Internal Revenue Service or IRS website: www.irs.gov use IRS search engine and type ‘hybrid vehicle credits.’

Cost incentives also vary state-by-state, you can check your state’s hybrid tax incentives in: http://go.ucsusa.org/hybridcenter/incentives.cfm.

Besides hybrid tax incentives, IRS also offers guidance to companies that give employees cash incentives to buy hybrid cars.

IRS said that the money is tax-incentive compensation and incentives should include cash in the amount of employee compensation reported on year-end Form W-2 earnings statements.

IRS said that depending on the incentive money from the income tax withholding and employment taxes. Tax code provides for exclusion from income for employee discounts only if the companies that produce products and certain other requirements met.

A number of big companies have launched programs that offer employees incentives to buy hybrid cars.

Bank of America Corp. has launched a pilot program that offers employees a reimbursement of $ 3,000 if they buy a new hybrid vehicle.

The pilot program includes more than 21,000 associates living within 90 miles of Los Angeles, Charlotte, and Boston.

By: Johan Young

Carbon dioxide emission from gasoline engines have been the main cause of radical climate changes that we are suffering these days. The global warming issue is truly affecting how we live and will be harmful for our future. And owning or buying a hybrid vehicle is an excellent start in helping our planet rejuvenates itself from the affects of over smog. With a little extra money in buying hybrid cars can actually be more advantageous than getting the cheaper gasoline engine car. Additionally, hybrid vehicle tax credit will also be a huge advantage for us.

hybrid car incentive

What is Hybrid vehicle tax credit?

Individuals buying hybrid cars will get a hybrid vehicle tax credit instead of a tax deduction. The IRS has just started to kick out the exact amounts that we can claim for our new hybrid.

Hybrid vehicle tax credit is removed directly from the sum amount of a federal tax issued upon buying a hybrid car. Unlike tax deduction which subtracts a certain percentage from a specific amount, hybrid vehicle tax credits applies and are obtainable to vehicles purchased or placed in service on or after January 1, 2006. This benefit is only obtainable for the first owner or the original owner of a capable hybrid vehicle. If the vehicle was chartered by a company, the issuing company can claim the tax credit. A lot of new Hybrid vehicles are eligible for this incentive.

Here is a list of some qualified hybrid vehicles that are certified by the IRS:

Chevy, GMC, and Saturn Hybrids

2008 Chevy Malibu

2008 Chevy Tahoe 2WD and 4WD

2008 GMC Yukon 2WD and 4WD

2008 Saturn Aura

2008 Saturn Vue Green Line

Mazda Hybrids

2008 Mazda Tribute 2WD

2008 Mazda Tribute 4WD

Nissan Hybrid

2008 Nissan Altima

2009 Mercury Mariner 2WD

2009 Mercury Mariner 4WD

Honda Hybrid

2008 Honda Civic CVT purchased between 7/1/08 and 12/31/08

2008 Honda Civic CVT purchased after 12/31/08

Ford and Mercury Hybrids

2008 Ford Escape 2WD

2008 Ford Escape 4WD

2008 Mercury Mariner 2WD

2008 Mercury Mariner 4WD

There a lot of more brands of hybrid cars to choose from. Tax credit for these types of vehicles can go as low as US$250 to as high as US$3,400.

If you own a hybrid car it is very important for you to ensure out id your vehicle is qualified for a tax credit. You can do this by checking it in the internet via the IRS.gov website for more information.

Why Buy a Hybrid?

By: Johan Young

Due to the rising cost of fuel and the environmental damage it causes to our planet, many car owners or buyers are looking for an alternative way to save money. Due to this more and more people are considering the option of buying hybrid vehicles rather than the conventional four-door and SUV.

Hybrid technology has highly-developed in the recent years. With lower cost of production and new hybrid car technology being developed, why buy a hybrid car is becoming affordable to everyone.

There some reasons why buy a hybrid car:

Why Buy a Hybrid? Hybrid Cars Saves Gas

Full hybrid vehicles have computers on board to determine the most effective way to economize energy and fuel. Combining the cleaner energy of an electric motor with the long range capacity of a gasoline engine allows a hybrid car to save as much as 30 miles a gallon. One feature of hybrid cars is that they can move using their batteries alone for power. While the vehicle is idling or coasting the engine is shuts off. They can also use a combination of these power sources for efficiency. They break power paths that enable them to switch between using mechanical or electrical power.

Why Buy a Hybrid? Hybrid Cars Are Environment Friendly

Apart from using a different power source these vehicles can also use different fuels. They can use a mixture of crude oil and biofuels. Other hybrid vehicles can also be reloaded through a standard electric wall socket.

Hybrid vehicles save on gas which leads to less greenhouse emissions. They have also been noted to reduce disturbance emissions. The use of electric power decreases the wear on the engine. Different than what some believe their batteries are not hazardous materials and can be reprocessed. These batteries are also long-lasting and rarely need replacement.

Hybrids are perfect for the suburbs. In this area you do not really need H.P. (horsepower) but gasoline mileage. Hybrids can recharge themselves when braking and only use the needed power in idle periods such as traffic. In reality you don’t really need a huge amount of H.P. when driving around in the city traffic.

These vehicles also contribute to the general health of the public. Emissions don’t only contribute to the greenhouse effect but also to respiratory diseases. For now, hybrid vehicles are expensive. The technology is still fairly new in the fuel dependent automobile industry.

Why Buy a Hybrid? Hybrid Cars Tax Incentives

Not until there are. Due to world political pressures around the world to reduce greenhouse emissions, President Bush signed an agreement in 2005 to provide huge tax relief to hybrid car buyers. The tax incentive varies by model and are based on two factors

1. How fuel efficient the hybrid car is compared to a conventional car in 2002 with the same weight class.

2. How much gasoline the hybrid car can save in its lifetime compared with an equivalent conventional car

So, those who purchase hybrid cars can get significant tax breaks from the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit (the name given to the tax credit for hybrid vehicles), is applicable to vehicles bought or put on the road after January 1, 2006.

Finally, hybrids really give us many advantages. As more of these cars take to the road, our air will become cleaner, and our country will be less dependent on foreign sources of oil. And government will give us tax deduction.

hybrid cars tax credit

You possibly qualified for a hybrid vehicle tax credit if you purchased a hybrid vehicle in 2008. For the most fuel-efficient examples, the credit can be worth adequate to $3,000. The exact amount of the credit is dependant upon the construct and model of the vehicle and in what country the vehicle was purchased.

The Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit (the name given to the tax credit for hybrid vehicles), is applicable to vehicles purchased or put on the road after Januari 1, 2006.

To characterize as a hybrid, the vehicle must have drive train powered by both an ICE (internal combustion engine) and a rechargeable electric battery. Almost hybrid construct and models behave condition for this credit- over two score models. However, to sustain that your vehicle measures up, check Form 8910.

Tax payers may claim the credit on their 2008, income tax return only if they aimed a qualified hybrid vehicle on the road in 2008. The credit entry is only available to original purchaser of the vehicle and is not available to a person who bought or rented the vehicle used during the course of 2008.

The credit back-number phased out for some hybrid models but is available for recently hybrid vehicles that became available this past year. After 60,000 hybrid vehicles are distributed by a particular manufacturer, the tax credit is decreased and slowly eliminated. To take the entire credit, the vehicle possessor must file along the end of the third month after the quarter when the manufacturer has got hold of this limit on gross sales.

Note: The credit for qualified Toyota and Lexus vehicles was eliminated for purchases on or after Oct. 1, 2007. The full credit for qualified Honda vehicles was available for all purchases in 2007, but has been reduced for purchases on or after Jan. 1, 2008.

Now, let’s have a look at how large of a credit you will be eligible to receive for your hybrid vehicle. This information is current as of January 2009:

By: Johan Young

Ever since 2005, the IRS has been giving a tax credit to individual taxpayers who drive cars which use alternative fuel sources. There was at one time just a clean fuel burning deduction available to green minded taxpayers, but this only applied to gas-electric hybrid vehicles. By the terms of this 2005 law, the tax credit is taken directly from the total amount of tax which the taxpayer would otherwise owe.

Qualified vehicles purchased on or after 1st of January, 2006, will be entitled for a tax credit ranging from $400 to $3,400 based on its fuel saving. The hybrid car tax credit is a combination of two different tax credits. The auto manufacturers and the IRS will be responsible to certify the tax credit amount.

The government has qualified diverse makes and models for this hybrid tax credit. Your tax credit may reduce by various limitations.

The IRS dictates that the producer’s certification should have the subsequent 16 essentials: Name, tax identification number of the manufacturer, and address; Make, model year, model, and other identification information; A written statement that the vehicle was made by the manufacturer itself; The kind of credit for which the automobile qualifies; The amount of the tax credit (shows all the computations); The gross weight of the vehicle; The vehicle weight class; The city’s fuel economy of the vehicle; Statement that the vehicle does complies with the provisions provided on the Clean Air Act; A Copy of the certificate that proves that the vehicle meets the emission standards set by the government under the Clean Air Act; A statement that the motor vehicle comply with state’s air quality control law; Statement that the vehicle complies with certain motor vehicle safety provisions; Statement that the motor vehicle uses a hybrid technology both rechargeable energy storage system and an internal combustion; Statement that the motor vehicle meets or exceeds California’s low emissions vehicle standards; proof that the motor vehicle does not go beyond the maximum power standard.
