According to fuel economy, Sonata Hybrid are nearly identical with Fusion Hybrid with city and highway numbers swapped. The Fusion Hybrid give us 41 in the city and 36 on the highway, while the Sonata Hybrid give us 36/40. The Toyota Camry Hybrid falls behind at 33 in the city and 34 on the highway.
Hyundai believes that 2011 Sonata Hybrid with its six speed automatic transmission can gives us an edge on driving enjoyment. John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai USA said that there is nothing specifically syngeristic between a Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT and a hybrid.
