There are many hybrid vehicles on the market today. Unfortunately due to the unique technology they don’t come cheap, developments and experiments with high powered engines made them more expensive. The perks provided by luxury cars come at a price. If being environmental friendly is this heavy on the wallet then why buy?

Hybrid vehicles may be an instant shock to the wallet but they are beneficial in the long run. Apart from SUVs and luxury vehicles there are also compact four doors that may provide an alternative for the average Joe. Following the success of the Camry, Toyota has decided to give the model a fresh new trim by turning it into a hybrid. Using Toyota’s latest hybrid technology, the Camry may provide to be an alternative to expensive hybrids.

Camry Facelift

The original Camry didn’t give its owner many problems. It’s priced right, big and powerful enough for the average Joe. With soaring gas prices, more people are willing to support and pay for hybrid technology. This prompted Toyota to hybridize its Camry to give customers a break from expensive sedans and Sports Utility vehicle hybrids.

Like other hybrids today, the Camry is equipped with a gasoline engine and electric motor combo. It has a 192 horsepower and runs at 38 miles per gallon. It still has the same accessories as of the previous Camry like alloy wheels, daytime headlights, power heated mirrors, six CD changer on the dashboard, eight way power and eight stereo speakers. The CD changer is compatible with a mp3.

It’s still equipped with standard safety features such as airbags in the front, on the seat mounts for side impact, at the side curtain, and for the driver’s knee.

The main difference is additional features. The hybrid Camry has a push button start system, Smart Entry keyless locking, power door locks, anti-lock out windows and the air-conditioning relies on the electric motor. It also has anti-lock breaking system and Toyota’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated System. The latter has traction and stability control with other electronic devices for vehicle control.

The Camry may not look as stylish as other luxury sedans and SUVs. But if you are looking for an affordable car that has been tried and tested this would be a good car for you. You don’t really need lots of horsepower for city driving. The Camry provides the best of both worlds while still being able to be accessible for the average Joe.

Used Toyota Prius: Until now, in the first three months of 2011, the sales of Toyota Prius up more than 51 percent. These amounts make 2011 Toyota Prius as the big-seller so far this year.

More rising gas prices and oil it will make hybrid car demand is increasing. This can be seen clearly with the rising prices of gas and oil from $ 3.53 per gallon to $ 3.87. Of course this will be a serious problem if gas prices reach $ 4 – scale national average. FYI, in California it’s already $ 4.21 per gallon.

Skyrocketing gas prices is directly proportional to the increase in demand for Toyota Prius Cars. All consumers racing to buy a Toyota Prius at a Toyota dealer. But unfortunately, due to the massive earthquake that hit Japan last March, stock Toyota Prius is also experienced shrinkage. This is caused because Toyota can only operate at a capacity of 50 percent – occurred after the earthquake in Japan.

In short, it makes the price become more expensive Toyota Prius. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, car dealers are usually able to accommodate about 30 Toyota Prius, currently only has a few new models and one-two used cars. Also, trim packages and color choices are also very limited.

This means high demand and low supply. The Wall Street Journal reported that most go to car dealers, “are spoken for and those that aren’t often snapped up as soon as they arrive at dealerships.” Äù Dealers usually stock about 30 Priuses now suddenly reduced to several new models, and one or two used cars. Trim packages and color choices are limited.

The result is a return on the waiting list for 50-mpg Prius, and car buyers scramble too many used to see what, AOS available. Additional demand for Used Toyota Prius: has bumped the average price of pre-owned Prius from $ 16.883 in January to $ 19,376 today, according TrueCar.com.

Changes in supply, demand, and gas prices may result in the Prius is higher or lower for a short time, but the larger trend was established long before the current run on gas prices. Jonathan Banks, executive auto analyst for Nada used car guide, says that used Priuses have gained 38 percent the value of 2006-2009.

This is because for some reason. Toyota Corolla feature suggest the dependable, calm cabin and better understood and hybrid fuel competence that much opposition and sub-compacts. Tenth generation model of Toyota Corolla in 2009 has been redesigned and keep hold of the identical personality that have fashioned 30 million auction and plus.

Toyota Corolla Standard replica tenders an adequate output, the base 1.8 liter of 132 horsepower engine. This four-cylinder match with 5 speeds manual transmission or 4 speeds automatic. Both setups create remarkable fuel for 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway with no hybrid batteries, motors and computer organization.

Uplevel XRS model offers a 2.4-liter engine is greater. This is for an additional 158 horse power. Driver must give a lot on the side of efficiency. Fuel economy drops to 22 city/30 highway. This Toyota Corolla Since most buyers are usually more concerned with affordable price and low operating costs, rather than passing the toll road capability. The smaller engine is the most popular and practical choice.

As in the past, the Toyota Corolla offers a journey, gently meet the requirements. Emphasis is on comfort of the road, which makes a fantastic everyday or commuter car. It is also ideal for highway travel. But do not expect Toyota Corolla handles in and out of highway traffic like a champ or a Mazda 3 or Mitsubishi Lancer. Toyota Corolla may disappoint some of the younger drivers looking for a more responsive experience on the road.

Toyota Corolla is available in five models; complete with an excellent feature, Quality of interior materials and facilities the old standard. In addition, the model in 2009 is slightly bigger car, inside and outside. Both traveler and freight room have gain from extension.

The standardization of Toyota Corolla is 6 airbags like dual front, curtain airbags and front side-impact. ABS is customary at the same time as Electronic Stability Control is non-compulsory.

Toyota Corolla is vestiges the most realistic and logical choice in conventional automotive world. This makes accessible an admirable stimulate, easy travel. The volume is enough. The overall development is hard to get in the dense sedan grouping. (The Honda Civic and Mazda 3 are approaching, but they are not enough. You will stumble on it hard to get an overturn commuter car. They suggest so a great deal with so a small number of shortcoming.

Toyota begins selling the Auris Hybrid in the U.K. on July 1. This is a milestone for a number of important reasons.

First, it’s the first time a full hybrid has been targeted for the heart of the European market. The Auris—which uses the same technical architecture as the Toyota Prius— is a mainstream economical model, with a position in the market roughly similar to the Corolla. The hybrid version is very similar to the conventional Auris. The main differences are: lower ride height for better aerodynamics (0.28 Cd); reshaped bumpers and longer rear spoiler (also for aero); and a smaller gas tank and trunk to accommodate the nickel metal hydride battery pack. Cosmetic changes include a chrome grille, LED driving lights and hybrid blue-tint badges.

Why else is it important? Because the Auris Hybrid is the first full hybrid—at least according to Toyota—to be produced in Europe, specifically for the European market. The Auris Hybrid went into production earlier this month in Burnaston, England. (Actually, Volkswagen began building the Touareg Hybrid in Slovakia in April.)

Europe has historically preferred diesels to hybrids, as a green fuel efficiency choice—but this marks the beginning of a shift to hybrids. The Auris Hybrid could help Toyota bypass Fiat to become Europe’s low-CO2 champion. The Auris hybrid’s CO2 output is just 89 gram per kilometer.

The Auris Hybrid is not just an afterthought. It’s central to Toyota’s Europe strategy. Toyota expects to the hybrid version to account for one-quarter of Auris sales this year. That means 14,000 units, growing to 30,000 starting in 2011. By 2015, Toyota wants hybrids to make up 50 percent of its model range in Europe.

Implications for the United States

The introduction of Aura Hybrid could ripple across the pond. The U.S. market is lacking a compact hybrid hatchback—and Toyota is lacking any kind of compact hatchback. Yes, in 2011, Honda will launch the Fit Hybrid, and Toyota will offer the Lexus CT200h hybrid. If Toyota brings over the Auris Hybrid, maybe rebadged as a Prius Junior, U.S. car shoppers could have at least a trio of small hybrid hatchbacks to choose from.

Could Toyota push down the price tag of a U.S. Aura Hybrid to $19,000 or lower? Could they configure the car to break 50 mpg? Could the design be modified with some of the Prius’s DNA for those that like a unique eco-friendly appearance? If yes to all the above, Toyota could have the first serious option for hybrid affordability.

And when this happens, the consumers will have at least three options or choices of plug-in hybrid cars – from Prius, Nissan, and General Motors. Moreover, the consumers can compare the price of plug-in hybrid cars prices – according to electric driving range and a range of costs.

And General Motors with their Chevy Volt likely become the most expensive – for about $40,000 – with offering up to 40 miles of all electric range before an on-board engine sustains the batteries charge for an additional 300 miles.

Nissan automaker with their Nissan Leaf will offer 100 miles of driving range – this pure electric will driving 100 percent of electric. The Nissan Leaf will not have an engine – would recharged after in range to about 100 miles. The company expected to sell it about $32,000.

The Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid will cost about -$20,000s and it will likely be the least expensive, but this plug-in hybrid will offer just 14.5 miles at speeds up to 60 mph – the least of all electric range. But Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid will rely on its gas engine more than the other cars – although you will be fully to charge it quickly.

All three of the vehicles will be eligible for tax credits, as high as $7,500. The Prius Plug-in Hybrid, which will use a 5.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack—compared to the Leaf’s 24 kWh pack and the Volt’s 16 kWh—will not qualify for as high a tax credit as the other vehicles.

In the race for electric and plug-in hybrid cars, Toyota will be able to leverage its commanding lead in conventional hybrids. In September, the company announced that cumulative global sales of the Prius topped 2 million units—far more than all other hybrid cars combined. Yet, GM, Nissan, Ford and others recently have taken aggressive steps to take a leadership role in the next generation of alternative vehicles, the plug-in hybrid and electric car. Toyota’s announcement about the Prius Plug-in Hybrid indicates that the company will not easily relinquish its market advantage—and perhaps more importantly, its image—as the leader in green cars.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or NHTSA has received a few dozen complaints about the braking performance of 2010 Toyota Prius from their users lately. They are complaining about a feeling that the vehicle lurches forward when hitting a pothole or bumpy roads.

Some of the Prius owners believe that the problem is happen when the system makes a transition from regenerative braking, which helps to recharge the battery of this hybrid, to standard braking when its need more aggressive stopping. The system is adjusted to use one kind of braking or the other for maximum efficiency or optimum braking performance. The sensors and calibration are apparently has not well to respond the potholes or uneven surfaces, and thereby makes an unpleasant driving sensation and a safety hazard for walker or pedestrians.

An unhappy owner of a 2010 Toyota Prius, Robert Becker, told the Detroit Bureau site that he has a bad experienced with a 2010 Prius. He had loss of braking power or braking momentum when hitting a manhole cover, pothole, or the like, so the driver need to press again harder on the brakes to slow or stopping the car. The other owners explained it as a feeling of losing control for a very brief period – less than a second. In 2009, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or IIHS gave ‘Top Safety Pick’ awards to the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius based on front, rear, and side crash testing.

Until now NHTSA has not yet opened an official investigation about the issue of braking system of the 2010 Toyota Prius. Toyota company is aware of the complaints, but says that it’s too soon to speculate about the cause or, if needed, a possible remedy.

Toyota Prius, JPN. Recently, if you look at the history of Toyota Company since the company was founded in 1937, Toyota is in the midst of its worst recession – but in other side it’s raising the price of the 2010 Toyota Prius by about $400. This seeming contradiction appears to be part of Toyota’s core ‘rotate’ strategy: blow up the volume on marketing, and lead with the Toyota Prius.

The base Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price or MSRP of the new third generation of Toyota Prius will currently range from $22,400 to $27,670, depending on the trim package. The revolution will be effective in late October.

In spite of the recession in its sales and the slightly higher price, Toyota is showing little concern about selling Priuses. Actually, Toyota had only 3 days of provide of Toyota Prius in mid September.

In the fourth quarter of 2009 the supply might get even thinner, as the company plans to pay out $1 billion on marketing. That spend is more than 40 percent of the carmaker would typically spend in the quarter. The campaign will contain funding for more incentives and advertising, while dealer will granting more higher profit margins. Irv Miller, the vice president for Toyota’s US sales unit, at a meeting with its dealers in Las Vegas said, “”We see the economy is starting to strengthen a bit, we’ve stopped playing defense. It’s time to go on the offense.”

A Family of Toyota Prius

Miller also said that Toyota plans to add more variants to Toyota Prius line up. He not describe when the timetable. For about two years, the company has hinted at the idea of a family of Priuses, ranging in size from compact to small sports utility or a wagon. The idea has been openly discussed first time in front of top Toyota brass and dealers in Las Vegas meeting.

One of the participants who attended the meeting said, “The Camry hybrid and Highlander hybrid do OK, but calling it ‘Synergy Drive’ never resonated with customers.” Stewart told to Automotive News that Prius it’s a magic name. When you tell anybody that you drive a Toyota Prius, everybody knows what you mean. Stewart said the Priuses will not be a separate sub-brand like Scion.

Additionally, Nikkei, the Japanese business daily report that Toyota plans to start in on commercial production of plug-in hybrids in 2012, and in the first year Toyota will producing between 20,000 and 30,000 units. Toyota expected to sell its plug-in hybrid for about $48,000. Toyota also enlarges its evaluation of plug-in hybrids by leasing five hundred of its third generation of Prius in Japan, the US, and the whole of Europe – government agencies and corporation.

The Main Reason Why Expanding Toyota Prius

The main reasons why Toyota expanding the Prius brand beyond one vehicle is to dominate global hybrid car market. The Ford Fusion Hybrid was marketed as a better more fuel-efficient alternative to the Toyota Camry Hybrid. And Honda is aiming for greater hybrid affordability with the Honda Insight and other future small hybrids. At the same time, a long list of established car companies—as well as a growing number of start-ups and Chinese manufacturers—have announced plans for electric and plug-in hybrids. Last week, BYD –Chinese auto company, said that it to overtake Toyota as the world’s largest automaker in about 15 years, using electric cars, hybrids and other plug-in cars as a key strategy.

2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is really a visual rerun from the 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The idea carries forward the small styling modifications that will dressed up the 2011 model simply experienced no more impact on dimensions or even overall ratios. As a result of it’s kind of long nose, 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid presents the ‘2 box’ profile of the sports utility vehicle. However its lengthy wagon body talks about minivan-similar interior volume. Withal, with out sliding side doors, this distinctly no minivan. Is actually no more pretense associated with off-road power, the idea is lacking in difficult-core-sports utility vehicle credential.

The 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Nevertheless, Toyota Highlander Hybrid does an excellent occupation bridging both the genres. It seems more muscular when compared to a minivan and also drives with an extra precision and road feel, excessively. Its much less threatening like a trucky sports utility vehicle, although it’s all-wheel-drive can tackle deep snow as well as rutty backroads. Toyota Highlander Hybrid is fairly simple to manoeuvre and also garage due to the fact it’s body is no larger overall compared to the distinctive 5-seat midsize crossover. Toyota Highlander Hybrid does, nevertheless, squeezing in the 3rd-row seat. This tighter backward there in comparison to a minivan, however quite a handy. And Toyota Highlander Hybrid’ first-and second-row lodging are equally nice just like any midsize SUV’s.

This is the true hybrid because it’s body and also frame certainly are a single unibody construction much like that relating to an automobile’. Unibody styles benefit gas mileage, drive, as well as handling simply because they are lighter than the truck, separate-body-as well as-framing construction conventional previous-school SUVs, like the 2012 Toyota 4Runner.

The 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid precedes inward Base, SE, as well as Limited designs. The 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid returns inward Base and also Limited shape. Toyota provides the 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid its very own grill and front bumper as well as tints it’s headlight and taillamp handles blue.

Completely 2012 Toyota Highlanders Hybrid come with fine-looking alloy tires, 17 inch diameter on Base as well as SE versions, 19 inch diameter on the Limiteds. Entirely have darkened rear side glass plus a rear spoiler. SE versions are grand through Base variants by body-coloured mirrors, standard roof load rails, fog lights, as well as a good antenna in the rear side windowpane as opposed to around the front fender.

Highlander Limited versions dress up using chrome door handles as well as roof track plus come with leather-based upholstery and also plastic wood grain interior trim rather than cloth seats along with silver cabin features. An electrical liftgate which can be closed and opened through the key fob or perhaps a driver-side controller is actually standard on SE and Limited versions as well as elective around the Base 2012 Toyota Highlanders Hybrid.

If being environmental friendly is this heavy on the wallet then why buy?

Hybrid vehicles may be an instant shock to the wallet but they are beneficial in the long run. Apart from SUVs and luxury vehicles there are also compact four doors that may provide an alternative for the average Joe. Following the success of the Camry, Toyota has decided to give the model a fresh new trim by turning it into a hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid. Using Toyota’s latest hybrid technology, the Toyota Camry Hybrid may provide to be an alternative to expensive hybrids.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Facelift

The original Toyota Camry Hybrid didn’t give its owner many problems. It’s priced right, big and powerful enough for the average Joe. With soaring gas prices, more people are willing to support and pay for hybrid technology. This prompted Toyota to hybridize its Camry to give customers a break from expensive sedans and Sports Utility vehicle hybrids – Toyota Camry Hybrid

Like other hybrids today, Toyota Camry Hybrid is equipped with a gasoline engine and electric motor combo. Toyota Camry Hybrid has a 192 horsepower and runs at 38 miles per gallon. Toyota Camry Hybrid still has the same accessories as of the previous Camry like alloy wheels, daytime headlights, power heated mirrors, six CD changer on the dashboard, eight way power and eight stereo speakers. The CD changer is compatible with a mp3.

Toyota Camry Hybrid’s still equipped with standard safety features such as airbags in the front, on the seat mounts for side impact, at the side curtain, and for the driver’s knee.

The main difference is additional features. Toyota Camry Hybrid has a push button start system, Smart Entry keyless locking, power door locks, anti-lock out windows and the air-conditioning relies on the electric motor. Toyota Camry Hybrid also has anti-lock breaking system and Toyota Camry Hybrid’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated System. The latter has traction and stability control with other electronic devices for vehicle control.

Toyota Camry Hybrid may not look as stylish as other luxury sedans and SUVs. But if you are looking for an affordable car that has been tried and tested this would be a good car for you. You don’t really need lots of horsepower for city driving. Toyota Camry Hybrid provides the best of both worlds while still being able to be accessible for the average Joe.

This is good news for hybrids lover. According to Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or IIHS which announced the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight to get Top Safety Pick award based on front, side, and rear crash testing. This award makes a clear statement that hybrids not just fuel efficient but can also get high level of safety too.

Toyota Prius on all its model and Honda Insight on the Insight EX and LX models has requirements to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick award. Prius and Insight has good ratings in ratings in all three tests (front, side, and rear crash testing) and offer electronic stability control too.

The Toyota Prius Hybrid has an average efficiency rating of 51 mpg, this rating make it as the most fuel efficient vehicle on the market today. The Honda Insight has a combined city and highway rating of 41 mpg.

The IIHS’s side test simulates a crash with a pickup truck or SUV going at 31 mph. The frontal test they use vehicle that have same weight as the test car and moving at 0 mph. The insurance group also simulates a stationary vehicle being rear-ended by a car moving at 20 mph. The test result tell us that the side crash test results apply no matter what size cars we are comparing, but in the front crash test results are meaningful only when you using the same weight comparing models.

In the Honda Insight’s front crash test, the side curtain air bag prevented the dummy’s head from any hitting structures, although there was a risk of rib fractures in the side impact test – but the risk is slightly. In the Toyota Prius’s frontal test, the driver’s head hit the pillar (but the impact was relatively low) between the back and the front windows. The driver dummy’s head suffered slightly more on an impact when the car hit the steering wheel though the air bag.
