Toyota Hybrid Cars - The first auto alternatives for the 21-st century

The List of Six 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Predictions

Takeshi Uchiyamada, the top Executive Vice President from Toyota announcements that in 2012 the company plans to introduce six new hybrid cars. Two of the new hybrid cars from Lexus luxury models and the other would be from Toyota.

The Company does not describe these models will be offered as hybrid vehicles, so we’ll (hybridcars.com) make our prediction. Actually, it’s not too difficult to know where the gap in Toyota’s hybrid line-up.

1. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV has been sold middle for a few years. But where’s the hybrid crossover? Since 2004, the Toyota has allowed Ford to have bragging rights over mpg for SUVs with its 32 miles per gallon Escape Hybrid. The company has committed to all-electric version of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid-developed in cooperation with the Tesla-by around two years later – 2012. A conventional hybrid version, with mileage in the mid to high in 30s, it makes very good sense. Maybe it will be stamped with the Toyota Prius badge.

2. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Toyota Sienna Hybrid

The Green family has been screaming against unreasonable for hybrid minivans for years. It appears that Honda would be one step ahead with Odyssey hybrid cars in the next few years. Toyota could be far behind?

3. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Toyota Yaris Hybrid

Just last week, Japanese media sources reported that Toyota will begin building hybrid versions of the Yaris in France next spring, especially for the European market. The Company has hinted at the Junior Prius (or a Scion iQ hybrid) for several years-and has been downsizing hybrid for the European and Asian markets. With the global economic scale, a Toyota hybrid dwarf can be very competitive on cost and can offer fuel star back in time for the potential $ 4 gas.

4. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Toyota Corolla Hybrid

This one is a wild guess, but what other models can say more about Toyota’s desire to push hybrids into the mainstream than the Corolla? This will place the gas-electric technology right in the heart of the Toyota brand. And with fuel efficiency higher operating rules for the sales-weighted basis, any reasonable level of take-in hybrid version of the Corolla will go a long way to meet more stringent standards.

5. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Lexus hybrid

Just two Lexus hybrids are more difficult to predict. That’s because there were four Lexus hybrid cars on the market, and yesterday we reported that the hybrid Lexus 40-mpg-plus CT200h could sporty compact in its journey to the United States in 2011. If pushed for introduction in 2012, it can qualify as one of six new hybrid models. Other models could have a low volume quick shout-hybrid sports car only to support the Lexus brand.

6. 2012 Toyota Hybrid Cars: Toyota Plug-in On the Way

Six new hybrids within two years is an impressive leap forward, but Toyota does not want there to the left of the emerging market of electric cars and plug-in hybrid.

Uchiyamada has said that he hoped the conventional hybrids, electric cars instead, to remain dominant for years due to cost and driving range. However, he predicted that the plug-in version of the Prius, also came out in 2012 with a price of about $ 3,000 to $ 5,000 higher than the current Prius, will eventually become more popular than non-plug version.

Toyota Yaris Hybrid – Great Movement from Toyota In Push to Small Global Hybrids

The new information that I read from hybridcars.com is Toyota is planning to produce small hybrid, high mpg, and affordable. First time the downsizing of hybrid cars in Asia and Europe, it would represent the shifting technology to major global markets where economies of scale means a dramatic increase in the production of hybrid cars.

The newspaper from Japanese – Mid-Japan Economist, reported that Toyota plans to produce hybrid versions of the Yaris subcompact – Toyota Yaris Hybrid, at its plant next April in France. This report at least one year following rumors of a small hybrid car scheduled for production at Toyota’s Valenciennes factory.

The other automaker that have a concrete plan to produce affordable small hybrid cars. The Honda CR-Z coupe went on sale last month, and next month at the Paris Motor Show, the company will reveal the Honda Fit Hybrid, which could come to the United States in the next year or two.

Critics argue that the hybrid system makes no sense for small cars, which is already relatively efficient. But environmental laws more stringent in the world will require lower emissions for vehicles of all sizes.

Hybrid Cars on the Global Scale

As we know, the story of Toyota’s other small hybrid in a work-Scion iQ Hybrid, first appeared in January 2010. A year earlier, at the Detroit Auto Show 2009, Toyota introduced the FT-EV is a pure-electric concept which shares a platform with the iQ. HybridCars.com in their news reported last week that Toyota is working on a hybrid version of Toyota Etios, a compact car for the Indian and Chinese markets. And in the America, Toyota is scheduled to introduce next year The CT200h Lexus, a luxury small sporty hybrid.

According to RL Polk, global sales of hybrids until June this year has reached 766 086 units, already exceeding last year’s total global production of 740 355. In other words, while hybrid sales have been flat in the US, a global hybrid production in 2010 will more than double the volume last year. Further improvements in the production of hybrids in Asia and Europe is likely to occur with the introduction of small cars are equipped with gas-electric hybrid drivetrains.

Increased global hybrid production will help automakers achieve economies of scale, especially with hybrid battery. If costs fall, then the technology can be applied-with little or no premium, for affordable models like the Toyota Yaris. Conventional Yaris is rated at 29 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the road. Hybrid fuel economy for the Toyota Yaris Hybrid depending on its design, could exceed the average of the Prius’s 50 mpg.

Toyota Will Introduce Hybrid Small Car in India

As we know, if we want to develop car markets such India and China, we must using short term market stratergy to get something that cheap, small, and fuel economy – hybrid small car. Fully electric power trains are expected to catch on eventually, but in which an intermediary step for the America is expected to hybrid-and turbocharged diesel in Europe-a small, four-cylinder engine that provides low-cost high MPGs is the name of the game in much of Asia.

hybrid small car

This is the main reason why Toyota Prius can get ‘big success,’ which in Japan and America has become one of the most influential cars in the market for the part that is better than one decade, only came to India last year with its hybrid small car. At that time, it was priced and marketed more as a high priced luxury vehicle than an everyday vehicle for the country’s emerging middle class.

But while the Prius never expected the main seller in India-only 80 cars sold in 3 months of a dedicated hybrid small car – Etios marketed specifically for that market, is apparently on the horizon. While total production has not been announced, the fact that Toyota‘s new hybrid small car offering in India shows that car manufacturers believe in the potential sales. Toyota has not announced whether the hybrid small car will be available in other markets.

Another price tag of a big question mark. If Toyota has managed to bring the price down to the point that the fuel savings associated with the vehicle actually exceeded the “hybrid premium,” which Etios can become an important player. If not, hybrid small car will more likely just another green also-ran. The gasoline version of Etios expected to sell 65 000 units next year.

The History of Toyota Prius-2

The new of the Toyota Prius built in Japan, at the Motomachi Plant in Toyota City, offered a new modular battery pack design and more power for better acceleration. The design of the new battery was both more powerfull and smaller, with typical Toyota Corp. reliability. Not like the first generation of Toyota Prius, the second generation of Toyota Prius smaller battery pack allowed the rear seat to fold forward, so the cargo handling more flexible. The largest Toyota market, United State, would have demanded more performance compare than the original car offered. The second generation of Toyota Prius deliver the performance needed baseline gasoline engine with an output increase from 58 horsepower to 70 horsepower. The result of the electric motor also increased slightly to 44 horsepower with 258 lbs-ft of torque.

Toyota-Prius-5

The third generation of the Toyota Prius was introduced in 2003. It was the first hybrid cars with all new of Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive technology. Power from the electric motor and gasoline engine to increase enough to cut the 0-60 mph acceleration time by almost 2.5 seconds. The result is a super-mileage sedan with a high-performance car is equivalent to a traditional 4-cylinder mid-size vehicle.

The latest generation features a 1.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder gasoline engine with VVT-i that produces 76 horsepower and 82 lbs-ft of torque. The gasoline engine is joined by a 67 horsepower permanent magnet AC motor that delivers 295 lbs-ft of torque between 0-1200 rpm. A sealed 201 volt nickel-metal hydride battery provides the power. Estimated fuel economy with EPA ratings system in 2007 is the best in the business, with a 60 mpg in the city and 51 mpg on the freeway. They adjust to 48 mpg city and 45 mpg highway numbers with the 2008 EPA test procedures.

Prius owners make more than a statement with the latest generation of cars as well. The new design, has increased significantly over the original Prius and rather strange-looking, remain distinctive even four years after its debut. Its profile of Jetsons-like futuristic and aerodynamic with high-tech appeal. It’s no secret that a different profile push many buyers to choose the Prius, because other people know that they are testing positive environment in a flash car. The interior is roomy and comfortable car, although some unique design elements to take some acclimation.

Success with the Toyota Prius have been encouraged to apply to its Hybrid Synergy Drive on other popular platforms including the Toyota Highlander SUV, the mainstream Toyota Camry sedan, and a various of models including the Lexus RX, GS, and LS channels. As a result, Toyota’s hybrid 1000000 submitted in June of 2007, with more than half (541 210) was submitted in the US. Toyota is on track to sell more than one million hybrids quarter in 2007 alone.

Ten years after being introduced, the Toyota Prius still leads in many respects. It has dropped the Prius GT concept and established a land speed record at Bonneville with a specially prepared Prius. What’s next? Maybe a plug-in Hybrid Prius that gets more than 100+ mpg combined. Toyota now has started a PHEV or plug-in hybrid vehicles development program and test samples Toyota Prius PHEVs on the agile American highway. And, just maybe … there might be consolidation of the hybrid Toyota Prius to the all brand new? We do not know. Apparently, there’s just no stopping this innovative vehicle.
