Diesel electric hybrid car models have shown a lot of potential in terms of consumer demand and fuel economy. Because of the low existing numbers for diesel electric hybrid car in the United States, many analysts see the highest growth potential for diesel electric hybrid there. One of the reasons for this is that better fuel economy than gasoline, and therefore, the diesel electric hybrid are potentially capable of offering fuel economies that are better than the corresponding figures for gasoline hybrids.

VW Golf

Volkswagen is taking this opportunity and bringing diesel electric hybrid to the United States by releasing a version of the VW Golf which will be officially unveiled sometime in the latter half of 2009 and intended for the 2010 model year. This is going to be the first American version of a diesel electric hybrid vehicle, making it quite a sensation already though it has at least a year before its official release.

VW Golf (more readily known as the Rabbit in North America) has stated that the company aims to achieve a combined fuel economy of 112.49 kilometer (69.9 miles) per gallon US with carbon dioxide emissions of only 89 grams per kilometer (0.62 mile). In comparison, Toyota Prius delivers 88.5 kilometer (55 miles) per gallon with carbon-dioxide emissions of 104 grams per kilometer.

Unfortunately, diesel electric hybrid cars are very expensive to produce. If you combine a diesel electric hybrid engine, (which costs around $2,000 more than a petrol engine) with a hybrid powertrain, the end result is a very expensive system. Besides that, specific systems to treat the Diesel Electric Hybrid exhausts would increase the unit costs.

The conventional diesel engine delivered fuel gas mileage better than their counterparts, and now, the technology give us new solution, the gas powertrains rivals by their emission output. So, there seem to make sense when diesel electric hybrids (adding an electric hybrid system to a diesel) would give us a superb fuel economy green vehicle.

For years, VW has showcased a various concept of diesel electric hybrids vehicles. Which might give us the impression that Volkswagen dealers will soon have them in their showroom? But I think it will not happen.

The spokesperson of Volkswagen who recently said that Great Britain’s Autocar that the “hybrid diesel is still not really good business sense.” The spokesman continued by saying, “the higher cost of clean diesel technology will make them even more expensive than gasoline-electric cars. The markets where the hybrid cars are most well-known are also the place where diesels are least well-known.

Keep in mind their business reality when you see a diesel electric hybrids concept car at the show.

At the same time, do not expect Volkswagen and others to stop showing of diesel electric hybrids combo, as they did in the year 2008 when it introduced the Golf TDI Hybrid concept and its 69 mpg at the Geneva Motor Show. Several months later, the green car fans are really in the foam about the possibility of plug-ins Golf Twin Drive diesel electric hybrids with lithium-ion batteries.

Or, how about last year at the Frankfurt show with the unveiling of the bullet-shaped L1 diesel electric hybrids that dished out a whopping 157.8 miles per gallon, had a top speed of 100 mph and an “impressive” driving range of 416 miles. And that wasn’t all. Three month later in Los Angeles, VW took the wraps off the Up! Lite, a three-door, four-passenger city car with a diesel hybrid system capable of 70 mpg on the highway.

Of course, we wondered why VW placing all the time, money and engineering resources to develop this concept vehicle, when not long after the Golf TDI Hybrid Concept was revealed in 2008, the company cited in Auto, Motor und Sport that they will not build car because it would be “too expensive.”

Oh well. That’s show business.

The Golf TDI has hybrid and electric motor that operates either with the diesel engine or separately. The Golf TDI hybrid uses a 3 cylinder common rail diesel engine with a displacement of only 1.2-liters. It produces 74-hp and 132 lb-ft (178.76 Nm) of torque. The Golf TDI electric motor is able to produce 27-hp and 103 lb-ft (139.49 Nm) of torque.

According to Volkswagen, the electric motor offers enough power to get the vehicle moving from a standing start. The diesel hybrid engine will only engage at higher speeds or extra acceleration (if required), as soon as the vehicle is in motion. Beside that, in order to improve fuel economy, the Golf TDI also rides lower than the standard Golf on an improved suspension and makes use of a unique front bumper to reduce drag.

Diesel hybrid concept: the Volkswagen Golf TDI

However, reports indicate that while Volkswagen is planning to produce a diesel hybrid, it won’t likely be this one. Citing the high cost of building a Diesel Hybrid as a factor, the company is anticipated to be going with a turbo—supercharged gasoline hybrid instead.

When it comes to high-end luxury sedans, you can not do much better than a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The top-of-the-line four-door Mercedes offers massive amounts of comfort, gadgetry, performance, and style – just about the whole thing except fuel economy. The 2009 Mercedes S-600 model only achieves 11 mpg (4.7 km/l) in the city and 17 mpg (7.2 km/l) on the highway.

But the company showed off a concept S-Class Diesel Hybrid that can deliver more than 40 mpg (17 km/l) at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007. The Mercedes-Benz S300 BlueTEC Hybrid concept has a 2.2-liter diesel engine that drives the wheels most of the time, along with an electric motor to assist with acceleration. Overall, it produces about 224-hp and a whopping 413 lb-ft (559.32 Nm) of torque – numbers that are comparable to a powerful V8 engine.

The S300 BlueTEC Hybrid concept also uses Mercedes’ version of the AdBlue urea injection system, which allows the vehicle to meet the strictest of emissions standards. This is another potential 50-state diesel-powered car.

Many companies compete to improve better innovation to create more unique Diesel Hybrid concepts. At the Paris Show in 2006, Citroen, French automaker showed off its C-Métisse diesel hybrid concept car. The fire-engine red concept car was a low-slung four door coupe with swooping lines and huge wheel arches.

Better yet, the C-Métisse Diesel Hybrid very unusual setup – a 2.7-liter diesel V6 in the front of the car drives the front wheels, while two electric motors drive the rear wheels. According to Citroen, the V6 puts out about 208-hp and the two rear motors deliver about 295 lb-ft (399.51 Nm) of torque each. That’s enough to drive the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 6.2 seconds.

The car achieves about 45 mpg (19.1 km/l) with this setup. It can also run up to 20 mph (32.2 km/h) on electric power alone, where it operates in “Zero Emission Vehicle” mode. Citroën says the concept is very environmentally friendly, and is equipped with particulate control systems.

With their excellent performance, great fuel economy, and proven durability, why wouldn’t automakers produce Diesel Hybrid vehicles? Substantially higher initial cost may be the biggest factor, but as fuel prices climb, a Diesel Hybrid just may be in our future.

Volkswagen Jetta TDI has a 5 percent biodiesel warranty. Rules are made to be broken. Especially, when our dependence on oil. Approximately 100 percent oil-free alternative offered by biodiesel. We just inform you. Then let your heart guide you.

Volkswagen Jetta TDI to overcome the existing barriers in California and Bin 5 emissions standards. This is the reason why the existence of this opportunity. Mercedes Bluetec system is different from the Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Mercedes Bluetec urea injected into the exhaust system and converts the Nox to be water and nitrogen, whereas Nox in Volkswagen Jetta TDI is stored with the catalyst and then held the emissions into the reservoir until the engine burn. Injection fuel used to refuel piezoelectric common rail. This allows a higher injection pressure than the mechanized system. Clean diesel technology developed by Audi and Mercedes Benz. This is a breakthrough on emissions to neutralize and filter the strong particles.

All the low emission diesel engines cannot compete with hybrids. This is interesting. This will be a milestone for the diesel history if you want to graduate from California Tier 2 Bin 5 standard. But this is only for new cars. Squeakiest standard is for clean with a Honda Civic Hybrid, Toyota Prius, SULEV, and including the Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Diesel engine maker will provide the difference between the SULEV and Tier 2 Bin 5. Given that the standardization of the two vehicles are cleaner than cars and trucks before. This statement is supported by the federal government. Government has the power as the Volkswagen Jetta TDI vehicles that advanced Lean Burn Technology. Volkswagen Jetta TDI was qualified to 1300 dollars the federal income tax credit pursuant Energy Act 2005. During prime time and when the money comes back to the IRS, the clean diesel is ready.

This debate has made the right high mpg. Diesel fans can be proud as they like because of fuel efficiency, durability and high performance emissions of many cars in California put it. The Volkswagen Jetta TDI is appeared. Volkswagen Jetta TDI appeared in a sedan car and spotWagon the year 2009.

Then the demand raises Volkswagen Jetta TDI, Sportwagen VW dealers that are not able to meet market demand. Vehicles waiting lists grow in some California dealers for 45 days in the fall. Diesel Jetta Sportwagens sold 80 percent in 2009. In an interview with HybridCars.com, Tom wrote a PR Wegehaupt Volkswagen, said that he nearly sold directly from the truck and then things come, they went away. Given that the circumstances and the situation was so miserable car market, it makes demands of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI so obvious.

Volkswagen Jetta TDI is now available in 50 states. Volkswagen Jetta TDI sequence right behind Toyota Prius and Honda Civic Hybrid cars are for the most efficient vehicle in America. EPA set speed for driving in the city at 6 and 41 at 30mpg highway. 40 automated highway and 29 cities. Assessment of gas Jetta sedans and wagons can be judged by the number 21/29. Reality has done well this test.

Lower gas emissions and fuel efficiency is the main reason why more and more people are buying hybrid cars. Additionally, hybrid tax credit from the government, cheaper insurance for green cars like hybrid vehicles from green car insurance companies, and permission to use carpool lanes in times of heavy traffic have also encouraged many people to purchase hybrid cars.

As the popularity of hybrid cars continues to escalate, many manufacturer competing to provide best hybrid car. One of the car manufacturers is German car manufacturer – Volkswagen. In 2006 the company announced plans to create their first Volkswagen hybrid, the Volkswagen Jetta. It teamed up with Ford and Honda to build Volkswagen hybrid Jetta. This Volkswagen Hybrid was to have an electric motor to help run a gas engine likes Honda Civic Hybrid.

Like most hybrid cars, Volkswagen Hybrid Company promises an economical use of fuel in Volkswagen Jetta. Volkswagen Hybrid Jetta can power up its engines on up to 60 mpg in city driving, while a typical SUV might travel 15-20 miles per gallon. That’s mean Volkswagen Jetta actually three times less gas for the same distance. In addition, this Volkswagen Hybrid has two engines make this car can decreasing smog by 90 percent and uses far less gas than standard vehicles.

Its reduced exhaust emission so can be minimized the power mulcting backpressure buildup and make the vehicle’s exhaust system in less strain, meaning a flat-out performance out of the vehicle. The suspension system, moreover, is that of the original Volkswagen Jetta, so expect the same superior car handling.

Not like most electric cars, Volkswagen Hybrid Jetta sports technology can recharge its batteries as you drive, so there is no need to plug in every 50 to 100 miles. Also, most electric cars cannot go faster than 50 to 60 mph, while hybrids can, especially when both the electric and combustion engines are harnessed to power up the car. With this rate of economized fuel consumption, the hybrid Volkswagen Jetta offers savings on gasoline dollars.
