Hybrid Car Performance

The key of Hybrid Car Performance is more efficient and the gasoline engine can be much smaller than the one in a standard car.  Usually, most cars require a huge engine to produce enough power to speed up the car quickly. In a small engine, however, the efficiency can be improved by using lighter and parts, by operating the engine closer to its maximum load, and by reducing the number of cylinders.

slow-hybrid-car-2There are several reasons why smaller engines very important in Hybrid Car Performance

  • The big engine is heavier than the small engine, so the car uses extra energy every time to speed up or drives up a hill.
  • Requiring more energy each time the cars go up and down if their pistons and other internal components are heavier.
  • More fuel is required by the cylinder if the displacement of the cylinders is larger.
  • Usually bigger engines have more cylinders, and the cylinder uses fuel each time the engine fires, even if the car is not moving.

This enlighten why two of the same model cars with different engines can get different performance. If both cars are driving at the same speed along the freeway, the one with the smaller engine uses less energy. They have the same amount to output of power to drive the car, but the small engine uses less power to drive itself. But how this smaller engine can offer the power your car needs to keep up with the more powerful vehicles on the road?

Let us compare hybrid car with its small gas engine and electric motor with the Chevy Camaro with its big V-8 engine. Camaro’s engine has more than enough power to handle any driving situation. The engine in the hybrid vehicle is more powerful to move the car along on the freeway, but it needs help when it needs to get the car moving in a hurry. That ‘help’ comes from battery and the electric motor – these systems steps in to provide the Hybrid Car Performance extra power.

Conventional car with their gas engine is concentrate in peak power. But most drivers usually use the peak power of their engines less than one percent of the time. The hybrid car uses a much smaller engine, one that is sized closer to the average power requirement than to the peak power.
