Fisker Announces Plug-in Hybrid Convertible
Fisker has announced plug-in hybrid convertible, this new concept vehicle they called the Sunset or Karma S. Fisker unveiled their hybrid convertible concept at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. Not yet household names, but seriously get some notoriety, which the company up-and-coming green sport car manufacturer. Fisker Karma S is the concept that the four passengers seriously sharp.

The hybrid convertible shares many similarities with the standard Fisker Karma but deletes two doors and provides a drop-top. There is a misconception that Fisker makes full-on electric cars and Tesla is a wanna-be but this is just not true. The car has its own niche of sorts with a mix of a 2.0-liter engine, electric motors and generator. The 4-cylinder GM EcoTec engine is turbocharged and good for 260 hp. But it’s the hybrid technology that sets it apart.
The Karma S appears to be a Fisker Karma S concept shares with aluminum spaceframe architecture and clean Q-DRIVEĀ® powertrain with the Fisker Karma sedan. Designed and engineered by Quantum Technologies exclusively for Fisker Automotive, Q-DRIVEĀ® provides 50 emission-free miles in one charge to its lithium-ion battery pack, and up to 403hp from the two electric. If this is true, Fisker could become the first automaker to produce a hybrid convertible for the consumer market.

Fisker Karma Sunset has not been set the price, but if all things go according to plan, in 2011 we should see this hybrid convertible car out on the streets.
