Tokyo, Japan – Mazda2: Mazda2 hatchback car that could penetrate fuel consumption figures 1:30 (30 km per liter) today began to be marketed in Japan. Mazda2 could be more efficient thanks to new engine technology that uses SKYACTIV.
In Japan the car was released at 1.149 million yen to 1,621,750 yen. Or, if converted to dollars to reach USD 14,700 to USD 20,000.
As reported by the official website of Mazda, Mazda started to accept pre-orders Mazda2 known as the Demio in Japan Thursday, June 9, 2011. The launch itself is scheduled to begin on June 30, 2011.
In testing, the fuel consumption of Mazda 2 variant R / MT in the city reached 10 liters for 100 km, or 1:10. So therefore the fuel consumption figures are quite staggering 1:30 able to compete because the fuel consumption of a hybrid car. Prius alone in testing we are only able to record the numbers 1:20.
What makes the Mazda2 more efficient?
Mazda2 or Mazda Demio is the first model that uses technology SKYACTIV. SKYACTIV at Mazda 1300 cc engine equipped with direct injection 1.3-G SKYACTIV gasoline.
Fuel efficiency can be achieved thanks to high compression ratio which is 14:1. Mazda claims this figure is the highest in the world.
In addition, the Mazda2 also adopted a unique system of idling stop, called i-stop. i-stop as long as it’s already become a feature of the Mazda, but Mazda further improves the fuel-saving features. Thus when the car is back lit, the machine only needs less fuel.
Other technologies are “intelligent-Drive Master” (i-DM). This feature helps the driver in driving comfort.
With a combination of machine-G SKYACTIV 1.3, i-stops and other technologies, Mazda2 could eventually reached 1:30 to fuel consumption.
