Mercedes Benz ML 450 Hybrid

Mercedes Company shows slightly more deference to fuel economy in their ML 450 Hybrid – with 275- hp, 3.5 liter, V6 engine and two motors providing 335 hp. This hybrid will deliver 21 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway fuel economy. If we compare with V8 ML 550 which rates just 13/18, it’s a nice boost.

Curiously, you can get the Mercedes Benz ML 450 Hybrid as your own with only on a lease of $549 a month for 60 months (for 36 months you must pay $659 each month. Roban Moran, the spokesperson of USA Mercedes tells us that the company offering this vehicle as lease because the company has a limited supply of batteries available. Reading this issue, we assume that Mercedes has some concerns about replacing or maintaining the nickel metal hybride batteries in the future.

German carmakers has a great interest about hybrid gas electric vehicle – with the BMW ActiveHybrid x6 and Mercedes Benz ML 450 Hybrid, they have arrived to the hybrid party with keg sized jugs of luxurious stuff. Unfortunately, the most exciting green car party has already moved on to electric cars and plug-in hybrids with much greater potential to reduce fuel use and emissions.

The Worst and The Best BMW SUV

BMW is identical with status, especially in for those Yuppie people still around.

As we know, BMW and its company are generally known for their performance and resale value. But when we talk about environmental company commitment, providing one hybrid in the United State and only recycling at their factories is not enough. They must to go a little more and start offering more hybrids in the United State.

<img src="http://www.1st-in-hybrid.com/images/bmw-hybrid-suv.jpg"alt="bmw hybrid suv"title="bmw hybrid suv">

Moreover, if you analyze on their website, BMW website is also the most confusing of all automakers website and we found it quite hard to even observe what their environmental commitment is. In any event, we picked the worst and the best of BMW SUV line-up for 2009.

The Worst 2009 BMW SUV – 2009 BMW X3

This all-wheel drive SUV comes in one model, the xDrive30i and has a 6 cylinder engine, 3.0 liter, and 19 mpg fuel efficiency. Many customer say that this BMW hybrid is hardly more adaptable than their 3 series sedan and is falls short on the interior. BMW X3 has too many buttons on the dash making the audio and HVAC systems a little confusing and this vehicle is considered to be stiff. For an SUV, BMW SUV X3 does not possess much capacity either.

The Best 2009 BMW SUV – 2009 BMW X5

This all-wheel drive SUV model offered by BMW scored an almost perfect 10 with consumers.

With three models, two of which have a 6 cylinder engines—3.0 liter, and one with a 8 cylinder engines—4.8 liter, this SUV boasts 16 to 21 mpg fuel efficiency depending on model. With a bulky price tag at $47,500 to $56,200, it is what BMW ‘maniac’ wait for to pay for a quality BMW SUV.

In addition, this 2009 model is also presented with a diesel engine. Consumers say this vehicle is “rewarding to drive,” and towing capacity is 6,000 pounds no matter what size engine option you choose. The seat comfort is great and there is almost no wind noise. BMW interior is delicious and includes a rear-seat entertainment and back-up camera.

BMW SUV: Summing Up

BMW is more in what their consumers want than what the environment wants and only offer one hybrid, the BMW 5 Series sedan that if equipped with all you want is a ‘bulky’ $60,000.

But if you want to possess one, you must prepared to pay for BMW status and luxury. Don’t forget to get a BMW extended warranty when you decide to purchase BMW SUV to help with resale and trade-in value as well as the expensive repairs needed once the manufacturer’s warranty runs out.

BMW X6 ActiveHybrid

BMW X6 – It seemed like a strange partnership when BMW joined GM Motors & DaimlerChrysler in a corporation to develop hybrid technology in 2005. The two American companies were working on hybrids for heavyweights—a technology that could provide better fuel efficiency on three-ton full-size SUVs designed to carry seven or eight passengers, extra cargo, and tons of extra weight towed in back.

“The technologies will be adapted to the individual vehicle models but the participating brands will retain their distinctive characters.” BMW’s Burkhard Göschel said. The BMW X6 ActiveHybrid’s concept unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show, gives shape to the company’s distinctive interpretation of the full-hybrid technology. Maybe in 2009 or 2010 BMW’s first hybrid scheduled to hit the United States market, the conventional X6 is expected in 2009.

The BMW X6 is a cross-over SUV that has crossed over into sports car territory. BMW calls the vehicle a “sport activity coupe.” Its chief characteristics are a sleek profile, low-slung stance, sloping roof line, long rear overhang, long wheelbase, short front overhang, muscular wheel arches, four-wheel drive, stability control, large wheels, and lots of performance. X6 ActiveHybrid will get 350-hp 4.8-liter V8 engine currently supplied in the X5.

With their concept, It’s a BMW first and a hybrid second, X6 ActiveHybrid is the sample how the company is keeping its focus on luxury and performance while integrating slow steady fuel efficiency improvements.

BMW X6 Hybrid’s two mode full hybrid

BMW X6 Hybrid’s two mode full hybrid – which appears in American form as the GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe, and the now discontinued hemi powered Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen – has been BMW-ized in the X6 hybrid. The two-mode’s motors, gearsets, batteries, and software should add up to a 20 percent fuel efficiency improvement over the conventional X6, which is rated at 20 miles per gallon on the road. The price of BMW X6 is expected to be close to $70,000.
